Description
Black Picot Shawl ...made for a couple semi-formals I went to in Feb/Mar.
Caron's Simply Soft yarn; black; worsted weight
Width: 12" if arranged as it is in the inset photo; 9.5" when it scrunches up as in the main photo
Length: 5.5' - 6' (again, depending on how it drapes). It grew longer when I wasn't looking ..I sware
Time spent: <1 week ...as that's all I had before it was needed (finished it that day and wove in the ends on the way to the place )
Hair styled by the wonderful ~chemicalbaby, my faerie godmother It was still curly when this pic was taken at the end of the night!
Hair for the second formal was just down ...there was even less time to get ready for that one than there was for the first.
Other Notes:
It can be worn with the picots facing up or down... two shawls for the price of one! ...eh, ok, not really.
I would've loved to do something more. Beads come to mind... one at the top of each picot, perhaps? Less than a week was too little time to properly experiment with them, though. I also want to try another shawl with crochet thread (or at least sport-weight) instead of bulky yarn.
I normally love critique, but I know this isn't exceptionally elegant ...it was the best I could do in a short time span. Comment as you see fit.
